East Orange, NJ, December 6, 2021Mayor Ted R. Green, the East Orange City Council, and the East Orange School District, in collaboration with corporate sponsor The New York Giants, are hosting a Citywide Victory Parade on Saturday, December 11, 2021 to celebrate the winning East Orange Jaguars Football Team.

The Jaguars, which ended a stellar undefeated season 13-0, won the NJSIAA Group 5 North Regional Championship on Sunday, December 5 in a heart-stopping game which ended 30-24 in triple overtime against the Clifton Mustang at Rutgers University’s SHI Stadium in Piscataway, NJ. The stands were packed with East Orange fans who exuded an electrifying energy that radiated throughout the whole stadium.

The parade, which will begin at 11 a.m. at the corner of Central Avenue and Oak Street, will travel up Central Avenue and down South Clinton Street before ending at Paul Robeson Stadium, 215 North Clinton Street. A victory celebration will immediately follow the parade and take place on the stadium field.

Supporters are encouraged to join in the celebration by waving the Jaguar colors of red, blue and/or silver, and paraphernalia along the parade route. Fans will also be entertained at the stadium with food, music, and special guest performances.

This win is the first state title in the school’s 19-year history. In 2007, the Jaguars won the  NJSIAA Sectional Title.

“I made a promise to this team that if they brought home a state championship, we would throw them a huge parade, and that’s exactly what we are going to do!,” said Mayor Ted R. Green. “East Orange has a rich sports tradition of producing world-class athletes. This win is the start of a new legacy and we want the entire city to come out, show love and celebrate this historic victory!”

Parking will be prohibited along the parade route and alternate parking arrangements will be enforced. For more information, please call the Mayor’s Office of Constituent Services at 973.266.5151.
